LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Whidbey Island is blessed with both a beautiful location and a pleasant climate. Located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, it gets a lot less precipitation than Seattle. The island has numerous beaches, public parks, hiking trails, and bike routes. Whale watching, kayaking and sailing are some of the water activities. There are lakes and public pools for swimming during the summer.

For exploring, the island has wineries, farmer's markets, art galleries, and antique stores. The nearby communities of Langley, Freeland, Greenbank, and Coupeville offer many diversions and shopping opportunities.
